A Note from the Producing Artistic Director
As the world around us changes,
I find myself asking new questions;
About the value of ART and BEAUTY,
About the future of RACE RELATIONS and ETHNIC IDENTITY in America,
About the role of RELIGION and SPIRITUALITY,
About our country's cycle of WAR and VIOLENCE,
About the casualties of FORBIDDEN LOVE and OPEN SEXUALITY,
About what it means to be an American.
With these questions in mind, we have selected three dynamic and important plays
by the true chroniclers of our times.
Permanent Collection,
In the Heart of America,
and God of Desire
are each, in their own way, bold and daring, as they tackle
the most sensitive and volatile issues of our world today.
I am particularly excited to be presenting world premieres by two Philadelphia writers -- Thomas Gibbons and Dick Goldberg -- and introducing renowned playwright Naomi Wallace to local audiences.
I hope you claim a piece of our 2003-2004 season!
 Seth Rozin,
Producing Artistic Director
