Melpomene Katakalos (Scenic Designer) is thrilled to return to live theatre at InterAct where she has designed for the last 7 years. She has designed over 100 productions on a variety of stages including the Arden, La Jolla Playhouse, SF Mime Troupe, California Shakespeare Theatre, and LA’s Cornerstone Theatre. In NYC, she has designed off-Broadway at the Clurman, HERE, La Mama, 45th St., and the Triad. International: Beijing and Singapore International Fringes, 2019 Prague Quadrennial. She was the director of the New Play Design Lab at the Bay Area Playwrights Foundation, is a co-founder of Crowded Fire (San Francisco), and is a professor at Lehigh University. Maria Shaplin (Lighting Designer) is a Philadelphia-based lighting designer who received her MFA from Temple University. She has a BA in Anthropology and Sociology from Hampshire College. Maria designs for many Philadelphia-based companies including: Applied Mechanics, The Riot Group, Swim Pony Performing Arts, InterAct, The Arden, The Wilma, New Paradise Laboratories, The Berserker Residents, and 1812. Kelly Palmer (Props Manager) (she/her) is a Philadelphia-based props artisan and technical director. She is a graduate of Ithaca College, earning a BFA in Theatrical Production Arts. Her credits include Young Frankenstein and Shrek the Musical (Walnut Street Theatre), Saturday Night Fever and Singin’ in the Rain! (Maine State Music Theatre), Sacred Valley (NY Stage and Film), Il Trittico (Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre), Pericles (University of Rutgers-Camden), and The Ongoing Plight of the Ferryman (Brainchild Stageworksx). 72 Miles to Go... is Kelly's InterAct debut. Shannon Zura (Sound Designer, Lighting Designer) is thrilled to be back at InterAct. Previous design credits include the lights and sound for Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s Leading Ladies and Opera House Arts' Last Gas; lights for Portland Stage Company's Papermaker, Penobscot Theatre's Wit, and InterAct’s Straight White Men and Three Christs of Manhattan; sound for Portland Stage Company’s Veils, Last Gas, God of Carnage, Red, and Our Man in Havana; and sets for PORTopera's La Fille du Regiment and InterAct’s Black Pearl Sings. She recently collaborated with Christensen Lighting on an award-winning lighting design for the Weiss Energy Hall at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Shannon holds an M.F.A. in Lighting Design from Temple University was Associate Professor and Chair of Theatre at the University of Southern Maine, and currently teaches at Ursinus College.

Zach Galloza (Production Assistant, he/they) is a Philadelphia-based theatre artist and one of InterAct’s 2021-22 Season Apprentices. Having recently been the production assistant for This Bitter Earth, Zach is thrilled to have been part of the production process for 72 Miles to Go! A recent graduate of West Chester University’s B.A. Theatre program, his collegiate theatre credits include stage managing She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms, directing The Candle Burnt At Two Ends (as part of WCU’s Student Written One Act festival) and designing the props for House Arrest.
