You probably know InterAct mostly for our mainstage season – new plays that speak to what’s happening in today’s world. This is the heart of what we do, and we love sharing our work with you. It’s no exaggeration to say that you are the reason we produce theatre.

But did you know we also:

  • Develop new plays, supporting a pipeline of diverse work. We put our 37 years of new play expertise into helping a wide range of playwrights refine their work. Find out more about our newest project, The Philly Cycle, which puts underrepresented communities at the center of play development.

  • Train the next generation, with an Apprentice Program that turns out practical theatre-makers, many of whom have gone on to produce innovative work all across the city.

  • Run the Drake, a two-theatre venue that serves not just InterAct but also a wide range of theatre companies and individuals who are able to produce their work in a professional, well-appointed performance space.

  • Give audiences the chance to go deeper, with insightful talkbacks and inventive dramaturgy that adds context to what’s happening on stage.

We’re deeply embedding in the Philadelphia cultural community and dedicated to finding new ways to serve audiences and artists alike.
