InterAct Theatre Company + Philadelphia Young Playwrights

Each year, InterAct joins forces with Philadelphia Young Playwrights to produce the Young Voices Monologue Festival, a competitive program that invites high school students from all over the Philadelphia area to write and submit monologues that address important issues. The top monologues are selected to be developed by professional directors, dramaturgs, and actors, and then presented in a series of showcase performances.

This experience . . . opens a lot of doorways, ‘cause I didn’t really think I could write as well.
Then I look at this and it’s like, wow.

InterAct is also proud to partner with Philadelphia Young Playwrights to produce The Middle School Monologues Festival. Apprentices from InterAct and Philadelphia Young Playwrights team up to present winning monologues written by middle school students from the Philadelphia region.
